Knowledgebase: Installing
Installation Problems

The most common problems are:

1. Expecting the initial download size to be large.  Magtax uses a web based
installer.  This means only necessary components are downloaded and
installed.  If you have existing components (installed by other
applications) used by Magtax they are not replaced.

The easiest way to install Magtax is to click on the download link and
select OPEN or RUN.  Otherwise save it to a location on your computer and
run the installer from there.

2. Not online during install.  Yes, because it is web based, you need to be
connected to the internet to run the installer.

3. Communication problems.  If you receive a "network error" message, it may
be that your firewall is blocking the installer from downloading the
components it needs.  The installer acts like a web browser (it doesn't do
anything different).  And should be allowed to access the internet..

If you are experiencing a problem not discussed here, please provide us with
the steps you have taken and any error messages so that we may resolve the
problem.
